Songs That Exceed 10 Minutes

I heard one yesterday that I'd never heard before: the full length 13 minute version of "Papa Was a Rolling Stone" by the Temptations. Sheer Musical Heaven!

Just under 10 minutes at 9:33. My most favorite of all Bruce Springsteen songs. It holds a very special memory for me as well.

Thanks for posting that R.E.. I just had Tracks in my hand yesterday and thought to myself that I hadn't listened to it in so long. Think I'll do that today. Watching Bruce...he cracks me up! Love him! I never saw him perform that live. Have you?

Exodus have done some decent 10 minute songs, The Atrocity Exhibition a fine example.


Opeth are notorious for their lengthy tracks, I would have to pick Nectar as a fine exponent of this kind.


Dream Theater are another who do well in that department.

Some more songs I love that quite nearly eclipse even 20 minutes.
Pink Floyd Dogs quickly became a favourite song of mine.


Stratovarious did a great lengthy track off Elysium.


Opeth did some great songs as well but I have to pick one off Still Life, the opener The Moor. Beautiful song.
