I knew I should have posted a reminder somewhere in the middle of this thread.

In the OP, I wanted to leave the top 5 left from each year, so we could have a decade strip with 50 songs instead of 10 songs.

Anyhow, these are the last 5 left from the 1980 strip.

Another Brick in the Wall, Part II - Pink Floyd
Call Me - Blondie
Heartbreaker - Pat Benatar
I Can't Tell You Why - Eagles
Refugee - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

I'll be posting 1981 as soon as I get the time capsule done. Maybe tomorrow, no later than Sunday, for sure.

I wasn't expecting this to go so quickly.

that floyd track may've been overplayed, but there was sumthin great about it being overplayed, too. kinda like when bohemian rhapsody was overplayed some years before. suddenly, the beluvved mutants who were never voted 'most likely to be popular' had control of the bus, and everybody went along for the ride. mwhahaha.

i would remind you that i make perfect sense to my own self.

Anything by Pink Floyd is a winner IMO. :cheers2

Stopping with five songs left might be a bit anticlimactic don't you think?

I think the plan is to then pool them in with other years for an actual decade strip.

10 years in a decade x 5 songs = 50 in the decade strip. That's how I read it anyway.
