Staying Alive , man I hated disco back in the 70s, but now that I've mellowed a bit in my old age it's kind of fun to listen to from time to time, if just for nostalgic puposes.

^^^ The Sauturday Night Fever Soundtrack is a great disc....got the movie too. The movie seems like a disco movie from just lookin' at it...but for those that haven't seen it, it's much better than that. It's just set in this time and crowd but not the entire story.

Well put. I agree completely. Most that don't know the movie or remember it that well figure the movie is all about disco, but that's really just the backdrop to the story, based on the time and the scene of the time.

I'll come out of the closet and admit that I like some disco from the 70's, though despised the whole disco scene. I grew up about 10 minutes from a neighborhood in NYC called Howard Beach which spawned a lot of the guido, Tony Manero wannabe's with the DAs, gold chains, designer jeans and a solid 5th grade educations. We used to call them zipper heads and whenever I saw one it almost made me ashamed to be half Italian. Though again I did like some of the disco music back then but kept it to myself or probably would have been tarred and feathered.

Getting back to the topic at hand, I always liked the movie Saturday Night Fever and my favorite song from the soundtrack is More Than a Woman by Tavares, though if I had to choose between Disco Inferno and Staying Alive would go with Disco Inferno.
