I understand! I just got a new car so I'll have to start cutting back a little myself!

My partner wouldn't be mad but she would wonder w=how I have that much money to spend on that, I would buy it if I had more money but have just purchased a hi-fi and loads of music so it will stay in the store:( Let me know Soot how good it is and I will weep:(

I had to listen to Mellon Collie again after some months and I maintain it to be one of my top 10 alternative albums of all time. :) Very nice orchestral flow to the music even when it gets heavier. One of my favourite double albums ever too. Will certainly over time own this entire bands discography.

One that Sooty pointed out to me on FB that is a great one is Galapagos.

The 9 minute epic of the album Porcelina of the Vast Oceans is where my personal favourite lies. :)

^^ :grinthumb :heheh:

Gonna seem weird but SP are one of those bands that are good to listen to in Summer. Its like music that keeps you somehow mentally cool when listening to certain melodies.

"Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness" and (surprisingly to some) "Adore" were two of the most important albums to me in the 90s. I was a HUGE SP fanatic in those days and I still love the band to this day!

Adore is such an underrated masterpiece and ballsy move for a band! Glad to see props for it! :grinthumb

Not sure if this really makes sense but my favourite couple of songs mentioned are on disc one side of it but as an entire album I enjoy disc 2 more.

Like any double album I see it as a very ambitious and potentially risky move but sometimes ya just gotta take one for it to be successful and Pumpkins definitely did with both albums. The heavier side being disc one and the calmer more laid back songs on disc 2. :D
