2005 Us and Them
2008 The Sound of Madness
2012 Amaryllis

I don't think anyone's had more pure talent out of all the southern tinged hard rock artist than Shinedown. Hands down out of Nickelback, Theory of a Deadman and Kings of Leon, lead vocalist Brent Smith completely blows them out of the water completely with his pipes! No contest! No debate! My friend was doing stage work and said as opposed to other bands this guy needed no aids, effects, etc. in his performance. He was the real deal! It's interesting to note that two of his influences are soul artist Otis Redding and Billie Holiday. He definitely shows it in his range. A little less surprising is he also was inspired by the amazing Chris Cornell. I have all the releases so far but my favorite will always be the debut:

Leave A Whisper

I LOVE 45 in both of it's forms but the acoustic is amazing:

45 (single version and acoustic version)

Also their cover of Simple Man is one of the best covers ever and deserves credit!

Simple Man

These two songs are also great rockers!

Fly From The Inside

Burning Bright

I'll cover the other two releases later but feel free to chime in one the debut or theband in general! :grinthumb

Re: "The Official" Shinedown Thread

The second album by Shinedown developed a bigger sound that matched the huge vocals Brent had. It wasn't as radio friendly as some of the material off the last album they released but it was heading there. Still they've retained the same Southern Hard Rock style on all their albums but just managed to change a little each album as opposed to bands like Nickleback and Theory of a Deadman! Here's:

The singles of off this album were great:

Save Me and I Dare You

Of course with most things Shinedown you truly get an appreciation for the band in a stripped acoustic session! Here's:

Saved (Acoustic)

Here are some more tracks to wet your thirst:

Yer Majesty and Lady So Divine

@ Shaggy-I think they are definitely consistent without being pathetically redundant and that explains why so many of their songs are likable. They are the best heavy rock band out their right now with Southern influences IMO! :grinthumb

@Fever-You are really lucky! I haven't seen one bad clip of them live yet!

@ CN-Hey, thanks for being honest about not liking them and showing respect at the same time. I do love that cover as well! :grinthumb
