Thanks for highlighting shinedown Soot. Brent Smith is a great songwriter and powerful vocalist.

I think now is just as good of time as any to post the last studio album:

Sounds of Madness

This album was Shinedown's blast into the mainstream. I for one got so sick of "Second Chance" but these guys pulled off on Hell of an album and it shows that they were aiming big. The vocals are still amazing, the songwriting was solid, the melodies near perfect and these guys were destined to break radio. Here's my favorite tracks off of that album:

The Crow and the Butterfly
(my favorite from the album)

Devour
(great energetic rocker)

What A Shame
(great ballad)

Nice updates here :grinthumb

Not the best news though dude as my friend said they are acclimating their singing style on this album so they're easier on the artist. I guess they made so many epic over the top vocal songs that they pretty much had no rest songs to ease the singers voice. great vocalists or not they need a balance or they can definitely damage their chords. :)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

No worries after all as the album is great! :grinthumb What the singer holds back on vocally (he still sounds greats) they make up with great, big arrangements and good songwriting! Just great songs!

^ Their new single "Bully" has the catchiest chorus ever! I find myself singing it alot when in the shower or when home alone jeje... I listened to the new album and I find it to be good, but not great. My favorite album by them Us and Them has some of their best ballads like Beyond the Sun and Shed Some Light. Also, Brent has one hell of a vocal range. I will give the new album a few more spins to see if it grows on me :).

They were on Sirius XM's Artist Confidential last week.
