It's that time of the year...It's cold outside, maybe the sky is gray, the leaves are falling from the trees. The mood and the atmosphere is changing, and along with it surely do your tastes in music.

Are there any artists that you prefer during certain times of the year?

For me, summer is all about Iggy Pop, the Rolling Stones, the Clash, and all sorts of brands of loud, sleazy rock 'n roll. But, in the fall/winter time, I develop an obsession for Leonard Cohen. In fact, I can't listen to him at any other time. It just seems inappropriate. Then there's spring, when I like singer-songwriters, but ones that aren't quite so bleak. So, spring is perfect Neil Young season for me.

My taste doesn't really change too much based on season. I will mostly listen to calmer/a little more depressing music in the Fall and Winter like Opeth and Elliott Smith and any other kind of relaxing indie folk. With some prog and post-rock thrown in.

During the summer, it's a mixture of going into a boy band phase and something heavy.

As for year round, probably would have to be...well, anything.

Like I said, my taste doesn't change much.

Not quite yet for me. When it gets colder that's when I break out the Burzum and the wood cabin records like After the Gold Rush and Led Zeppelin III.

I do have to admit that at this chilly, gray time of year I do listen to more of the Band, early Joni Mitchell and Elton John, CSN (Y), and Ronnie Lane than I do the rest of the year. I also get out the acoustic albums like Led Zeppelin III and Rubber Soul. And of course I break out my favorite Christmas tunes. I love this time of year.

Springtime - Grateful Dead

Autumn - Fall weather - I don't know why, but Southern Rock - Charlie Daniels Band, The Outlaws, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tuckers Band, etc...

Winter and Summer...anything really....but, I guess The Beach Boys warm me up in the middle of winter and sound perfect on a hot summer day or night...so, either way, it's good.

of course I break out my favorite Christmas tunes. I love this time of year.

I'm a big goofball freak when it comes to Christmas music - I love it - traditional or oldies...and some rock stuff, I'm very picky - only the good stuff.

I honestly can't wait for when I can reasonably start listening to Christmas music. I make a new Christmas comp every year and I have a slew of great tracks slated for this years edition!

Other than listening to actual Christmas music, my musical tastes don't change depending on the weather or the season. Sorry, I can't add much other than that here.

I tend to associate fall with folk rock and do listen to more of some of the British prog/folk artists like Renaissance, The Pentangle, Fairport Convention, etc. and always listen to Gordon Lightfoot as alot of his compositions reflect Canadian history, places and events and does have that organic autumnal ambience that I find calming.

During the winter months my listening habits have somewhat a slight shift away from more the "heavy" as I "slow" down, a direct accordance to my environment. Lush, symphonic prog. Andalusian rock, Andean folk, and Indo/Arabic in combination with prog/jazz-fusion which reflects warmer climates with the traditional instruments of flamenco guitars, sitars, woodwinds, etc. Instrumental surf lets the sunshine in with the likes of The Ventures, The Challengers, The Lively Ones and at times will listen to psychedelia rock/pop/garage from the late '60's as I find it uplifting on a coastal grey misty day. Some of the more cool/smooth jazz/jazz-fusion; Oregon is that comes to mind first.

In the spring all hell breaks lose. Anything goes. Well, almost anything.

There aren't any artists that I prefer to listen to at a certain time of the year. The only thing I can say is that there are certain songs that may remind me of certain times of the year, mainly songs that remind me of the summer.
