Even a casual fan would have to admit early VH is by far the better collection of songs.
And just to let you know I don't hate Sammy, he was very good in Montrose and has had a good solo career before Van Hagar and now with Chickenfoot he's doing just fine for himself.
As far as the "hate for Sammy" goes, that's not what I perceive, I see an old band mate commenting endlessly(No doubt prompted by the press and his love of his own voice.) about the new VH line-up/tour/album and coming off looking like a whiny critic of all things Van Halen.
As far as I know VH hasn't said a word about Sammy or his band...they are busy making fans happy on tour with some vintage sounding music and I for one am happy they are doing so.
I can't top what Powerage said about the early VH albums or DLR being one of the best frontmen ever so I won't bother trying.
