I agree, Cosmic. Deep Purple bloomed late (with MKII), and Sabbath fizzled out early....but it will be interesting to see how things match up with Master of Reality / Fireball :grinthumb

Sabbath wins this one, their debut is simply excellent.

In terms of parallel releases, by the time Deep Purple finds their feet Sabbath will be petering out. I feel like most of these will be very one sided like this one.

Oh and my vote goes to Sabbath.

Yeah I agree...the other post will be like a 25 - 0 for Black Sabbath

I agree, this one is a landslide, and the next 2 should be as well. Then maybe a couple tough ones, then I assume after that they will be flip-flopped more or less.

Oh don't misunderstand me, I like Rod Evans as a singer and those first three Deep Purple albums are solid in their own right but against the first three Sabbath records? It's simply not fair. I think the 4th, 5th, and 6th albums are going to be the only really cool match ups.

That is the reason why I will cancel the 2 next Evans albums,I don't think they are bad albums but against the 2 following Sabbath albums may even be the best Sabbath's albums...
