ROBIN ZANDER TURNS COUNTRY FOR SOLO RECORD:
Cheap Trick frontman Robin Zander is to release his second solo album November 22. Countryside Blvd. was recorded in Nashville in 2010. Press release: "This unique group of musicians, songwriters, and singers gathered in Nashville last year and recorded 12 songs. In that place and time they have captured a fresh country sound with a combination of musical styles. The songs were written and sung by Robin Zander along with a few classics. The album features Sarah Buxton, Tom Bukovac, Pat Buchanan, Chad Cromwell, J.T. Corenflos, Dan Dugmore, Tim Lauer, Glen Worf, Larry Franklin, Perry Coleman, Robin T. Zander and the Countryside Singers. "I'm hopeful that when people discover this album that it's as fun to listen to as it was to record" states Sara Buxton.
"I've always wanted to do a record in Nashville and this is it." says Robin Zander, "To have these musicians of this calibre record my songs for Countryside Blvd. was one experience I won't soon forget. Thanks to all for doing one hell of a record." Available in May on Big3 Records & Tapes.

Well, she's the world's biggest fan of Robin, so she may make an exception when it comes to country music this time around.

:heheh: @the Trickster comments.. I have to say after reading who helped with the new album, I don't know any of them.. But I do know Zander pulling a crossover isn't a bad idea..
It's good to expand into different genres when you have the style and worthy vocals as Robin does..
I'm a bit surprised or maybe it just wasn't mentioned that he would bring his daughter in on a few tracks..

Anyways..maybe Tricky can fill in some more..:grinthumb

:heheh: Well guys to be honest this is the first iv heard of this one..

I'll for sure listen to it and give it a chance, Robin could probably sing the yellow pages if he chose..It'll be an interesting listen for me.

Plus look at him on the front cover :omg::D

Zander going country!!...nothing surprises me anymore many artists have crossed over to try and extend their careers the last few years.

Not sure I will pick this album up myself, if I want country I go for the older stuff generally speaking, but I wish Robin well with his venture.:grinthumb
