Re: Riverside: Progressive Rock/Progressive Metal

The vocalist has a very maynard keenan feel to him. I really like it. The song is pretty good to Soots.

Interesting, I think they are more along the lines of some early 90's artists...

That's where I was coming from in part Prime but everyone has a right to question my ears. It's all good and I'd figured you'd at least like to know they had new music out! :grinthumb

It's good to know these guys have some new music coming out. I haven't been listening to them enough, and hearing some new music like that reminds me why I enjoyed them in the first place. Will definitely be picking up their new release when its good to go.

Thanks for the head's up , actually. These guys made my shopping list.

(for the record, I don't download music, I only buy hard copy)

I'm in the same boat as you Phil! I download if it's my only option like an I-tunes exclusive but the physical copy is my priority in every case. I was sampling these guys because they qwere on I-Tunes list of new releases for the week and had a hunch they would have a thread made by Prime because he has the market cornered on new Progressive bands here! Lo and behold I was right! :grinthumb

Hey dude, I was just sampling these guys! Apparently they have a new EP out! Some of it reminds me of Tool but more purely progressive than they are! :grinthumb Here's one of the tracks which is pretty good! :)

Forgotten Land
Awesome. Funny I just played them yesterday for the first time in awhile.
Sorry didn't see this thread before.
You guys know I'm not much of a hard rock/metal prog guy but these guys hit a cord with me. I've seen them three times (two NEARfest shows 06 and 10) plus a small venue show in 2008. Sweet band love all the albums although they do get a little hard sometimes.

two minds is another good one

Conceiving You

I’ve been watching you
Not waiting for the right moment to make the first move
Do you want to know
Why I keep avoiding your eyes
And why I’m running away?
It’s crazy, I know
I’ve been conceiving you for too long
Or maybe I’m destined to be alone?
Or maybe there’s someone who will understand
That I’m not able to share my world?
I’m still running away
It’s crazy, I know
I’ve been conceiving you for too long
If only I could change all things around
Still conceiving you all along...
I’ve been conceiving you for too long
If only I could change all things around
I’ve been conceiving you for too long
I’ve grown used to that
Still conceiving you all along...

They only ended up with an EP in 2011 which I like.
However, they just released their new album (well not in America yet but on Spotify)
I'm loving this one they have toned down the metal and this one might be my favorite because of that. They are doing a small tour this summer in America
