i recently bought "drama" by yes, and i noticed it had on the actual disc the atlantic design and label.
on the casing both the rhino and elektra labels appear

on the spine just elektra/rhino

1. why didn't atlantic just release it? with atlantic on the spine and casing

2. if elektra/rhino have the rights why leave the atlantic design

3. is this common with all of yes's back cataloge ? have elektra rhino rights to all the pre-atco releases

i thought it could be the same as the original atlantic labels on post -1975 led zeppelin cd's [with swansong on the casing , but original atlantic designs on the disc]but them again swansong was direct sub-label of atlantic

That's a remastered press from 2004 with bonus tracks. If it's R2 73795, then it is mainly US press. Both Atlantic and Rhino are owned by Warner Music Group, so it really doesn't matter when it comes to copyright.

The Rhino label is a sign of "Quality" to me either for new vinyl releases or CD's. It was Warner's conscious decision to create an "audiophile" in house label because many fans were not happy with what was available.
