interesting instrumental track... I wouldn't say that it catches me, or that it creates a deep connection with me... nevertheless, it's so peculiar that it keeps you engaged till the end... and I think it's a good sign of its quality. 7,5/10
Written by Willie Nelson, this is known as a country standard. However, I think it sounds much more poppy, which explains why it was also a hit on the pop charts. Whatever genre you want to put it in, it is a classic that will never go out of style. Patsy seems to hit a lower register than the usual country female singer who sings with more of a high-pitched voice and doesn't tend to leave that register. I think this is one of the reasons that allows her to produce more emotion in her songs. 8.5/10
This just may be the only Scritti Politti song I have listened to but it was fairly well known in the time of its release and when I harken back to those days with a few certain friends today. I’ve always liked the energy and tempo and the hooks of the song. Just not enough to interest myself with trying to listen to anything else from the band. I like the song in small and infrequent doses.
