Wonderful, atmospheric composition by the really great musicians. Genius. 10/10.

Love Joe's voice....a classic to be sure.....I wish they had toned down the production a bit and just let him sing without all the strings/stuff and ladies in the background...still 8/10

Now for something completely different....some Anglo-French avant prog pop.

Yeah, I just don't care for it. The music is too monotone for my taste and the vocals aren't anything special either. 6/10

Ah, I love these ladies (i'm their subscriber). They always get 10/10 from me. Clear voices, soft instrumental and beauty. 2_sm19.gif

Hmm....even more monotone than Stereolab... as Aero might say. ;)
'Elevator 'prozac' stretching on for miles'...... 4/10

Sort of clever song describing how music is created for the masses but lost it's oomph:) 6/10

Their first big hit which launched them into worldwide stardom and now a popular radio staple from that decade. Written by Prince who was a fan of the band. 8/10

One of the early bands on the great 4AD label along with Dead Can Dance (Perry of DCD wanted them to tour with them) and Cocteau Twins, This Mortal Coil......etc.
They also remind me of Simple Minds (not on 4AD) Echo and Joy Division....dark primordial music.
8/10

The American

The above video was unavailable but since you mention 'Simple Minds' as above I assume you are referring to 'The American by Simple Minds.' A typical 80's chacteristic song but I did not get anything else out of it. 5.5/10
