Damn, I really miss these days with QR. When DeGarmo was still playing lead, Geoff's vocals were still top notch. Dont' get me wrong, I'm not complaining about anything, but it's nice to be able to look back on old live stuff like this and crank it up!
Jet City Woman
By the way, anyone else feel like slapping the shit out of Kurt Loder at the end of that video when he's giving that truly stuipd and pathetic "interview"!?
I'm not sure I can ever pick one single favorite QR tune. It does change as time goes on but this would definitely be in the top 3
Is There Anybody Listening?
I still feel the emotion of Geoff's voice and as well as the emotion in the guitar work in this song now, just as strong as I did 20+ yrs ago when it came out. what a great ****ing tune!
Seriously, not many guys can sing a song that gives me goosebumps, but this is one guy that can. This song gets me on so many levels.
Another couple of tunez that were epic live back in the day were The Mission and Suite Sister Mary. Both of these vids are from the Operation: LIVEcrime DVD, I was fortunate enough to see this tour twice and I swear to God it was otherworldly. The stage show was the best I've ever seen in my life. If you are a QR fan and haven't seen this, then you MUST!
The Mission
My boys let me down with the new one but nothing will ever take away the glory of Mindcrime... still the finest concept record ever laid down and a touchstone to the greatness of 80's prog metal.
