Here's a somewhat unpopular opinion. I absolutely love everything about The Division Bell including the album art. I think it is as good as the late 60s and 70s classics. Wish there had been new material after 1994.

^^I like the Division Bell, and I saw that tour which is something I'll never forget.:D

AMLOR is another of their albums I really like after the departure of Waters, you could feel the band 'relax' after all the pent up tensions left with Roger. Some will say it doesn't measure up to their all time classics, I don't care I like it more than Piper which many hard core fanatics consider PF's best album.

Oh yeah I like AMLOR too. I agree that it sounds more relaxed and chill compared to the horribly stuffy and depressing Final Cut. I wouldn't put it in my Top 5 or anything but I do enjoy Momentary Lapse quite a bit. Sorrow is so stunning!

Having seen my first Floyd gig in 1980 I never thought I would get the chance to see them perform DSOTM. So I was ecstatic when they performed it at The Division Bell gigs in 1994. I saw a comment on one of the Floyd boards recently saying that those performances were probably the best ever of that album, and I guess there may be something in that. I would not be able to pass comment, not having seen it in the '70s. I'm assuming he would have been referring to the movement in technology in those 20 years. For me, that whole gig was a knock-out.

^^They didn't do the entire DSOTM for us on the DB tour but pretty close. I wouldn't be surprised that it was a combination both the new technology and the fact the band was having fun again Johnny.

Have you ever watched the VHS tape of Delicate Sound of Thunder Musikwala?

Sorrow on that tape makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up...simply amazing.

I enjoy that album more than The Wall even. Division Bell is a great album. I think the Final Cut or Ummagumma is their weaker releases.

Yup gotta agree there. Sorrow is simply an amazing song. Hands down my favorite off MLOR. The 1990 Knebworth version is the best, with a scorching solo by David.:D

Yeah I'm familiar with DSoT although I don't think I've watched the video. I've probably listened to the audio at some point, not sure.

You guys who have seen the Floyd live in flesh should realize how goddamn lucky you are! ;) Now that Rick and Syd are dead, it will never happen again.

^^It was a sad day when Rick died and Pink Floyd died with him I'm sure David has said as much.(There is the slight chance David, Roger and Nick would do a concert or two sometime in the future, time will tell.)

Still if Gilmour tours in your part of the world you might get a chance to see and hear a few of your favorite PF songs Musikwala. He does put on a very good set of solo and PF songs.

I'll be over the moon if Gimour tours here! I'm actually waiting for Waters to come here. I suppose he tours more frequently than Gilmour, eh?

SA gets a fair share of bands, more classic than contemporary, but of course it is nothing compared to US, Europe, Australia etc.
