Paul McCartney's first No. 1 album in decades will be expanded with three previously unheard songs. Egypt Station: Traveller's Edition is due on May 10, and will be limited to just 3,000 copies.
The exclusive new tracks are "Frank Sinatra’s Party," "Sixty Second Street" and an extended version of the Egypt Station single "Who Cares." Also included are four live songs recorded during stops at Abbey Road Studios, the Cavern Club, the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts and Grand Central Station.
The album will be presented in vinyl, compact disc and cassette formats, and that will be paired with HD audio of all tracks as well as some "rare performance footage."
Additional items include a copy of a handwritten note from McCartney, an old-fashioned Egypt Station map, various travel-themed memorabilia including luggage stickers, a journal featuring copies of McCartney's handwritten lyrics, two lithographs, a jigsaw puzzle and playing cards, among other items. It's all housed in a vintage-style suitcase.
Before Egypt Station, McCartney hadn't had a chart-topping Billboard album since 1982's Tug of War. The 2018 project marked McCartney's eighth No. 1, but it was his first-ever to debut at the top spot.
Pricing for Egypt Station: Traveller's Edition has not yet been announced. There are no details on a rumored audio-only version either. Pre-orders will be taken starting on Friday at 9AM ET.
