Awesome new song Cusp of Eternity. Heritage quality to it. Love the classic prog rock edge to it.

I listened to Cusp of Eternity a couple of times and tbh it sounds like a Heritage b-side. I'm not feeling it at all, it just seems uninspired The album art cover is alright, I prefer the this fan-made one

I need to listen to it more times, but my initial reaction is somewhat positive. I still miss some growls, I wish it was a bit more in your face and I felt like it wasn't really going anywhere until near the end, but Mikael's vocals are awesome as always and I do like the delay guitar sound.

They will likely not do growls for a long time. I honestly don't think its needed to be a good album. I don't think it sounds like a b side either to Heritage. May be a bit more of a slightly simplistic pattern but I love the real prog rock flow to it in the actual music.

I love the death growls, but I always preferred Mikael's clean singing voice. It has has gotten so much better throughout Opeth's lengthy career.

I like the previous track more to be honest. I'm not a huge fan of the jazzy keyboard sound on this one. It makes the track sound average and uninspired.

I enjoy the jazzy nature, gives the music a bit more to it. Heritage was a throw off for many but not me, Opeth have done something different on every single album.

Pale Communion is as awesome as I expected it to be. People who didn't like Heritage may not like it but if you did this record is for you. Its fantastic.
