Thanks man :cheers2

...and I know what you mean about Voivod..lol

They don't exactly have the most accessible sound out there. :D It took me a while to be able to stomach their stuff myself... & the only albums I finally did get into were Nothingface, Angel Rat & The Outer Limits...

I love thrash so much, that I can barely stand talking about it anymore! I've been a member of the Thrash Unlimited forum for about 5 years (as well as at least a couple others here) and I played in several thrash metal bands since 1987. I tend to like the more obscure stuff, primarily because the "Big 4" and bands in that circle all tended to abandon their roots in the early 90's, which is my opinion was the "death of thrash" (not GRUNGE). Some faves that pop into mind immediately are Sodom, Razor, Torture, early Angel Dust, Agent Steel, Deathrow, Sacrifice...

Fave 80's/early 90's thrash/power-thrash albums...

....they're not nessesarily the most popular/well-regarded ones by these bands, but they're the ones I like best..

Coroner - Mental Vortex
Annihilator- Alice In Hell
Testament - The Legacy
Manilla Road - Out Of The Abyss
Megadeth - Rust In Peace
Kreator - Coma OF Souls
Sepultura - Arise
Overkill - The years Of Decay
Metal Church - The Dark
Slayer - South Of Heaven
Artillery - By Inheritence
Voivod - Nothingface
Realm - Endless War
Sodom - Better Off Dead
Torturer - Oppressed By The Force
Dark Angel - Time Does Not Heal
Forbidden - Twisted Into Form
Atrophy - Violent By Nature
Anthrax - Persistence Of Time
Metallica - ...And Justice For All

Awesome list from both you and 2lt .... Love Gammacide btw, Agent Steel is 1 of my all time thrash bands..both line-ups. Actually prefer the Bruce Hall version which is sacrilegious I'm sure haha

*new comer to this thread* don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing but I suppose I am as old school as they get. I first bought "Kill Em All" and "Show No Mercy" back in 1983 and by 1985 I was buying tons of thrash, whatever I could afford. By 1987 I was making great money and was buying about 5 cd's a week. You name it, I had it. by 1991 I was slowing down buying thrash and by 1993 I kinda stopped caring about it altogether. About 5 years ago I started slowly introducing myself back into the 80's thrash again. I love it. I pretty much stick to the '83-'91 or 92 era, the Golden Age of Thrash (actually that would probably be '83 to about 1989, by then thrash bands started slowing down, writing ballads and getting vids on MTV). By 1989 more death metal bands were showing up and doing the blastbeats and that it what I leaned more towards by the late 80's.
anyway, just wanted to throw in my $.02.
