It's a legitimate music term...Google and you'll find tons of cool bands.

I know its a legit term. Have heard it a fair few times. Just don't care too much for it, if its thrash thats good enough for me. lol
Not saying anyone else should be the same, thats just me personally.

Thrash and Death Thrash are two different sub-genres. It's neather thrash nor death metal but a mixture of both styles...but you can call it thrash if you want toI suppose. I would say it is actually more a very thrashy style of death metal then thrash metal myself...

Fair enough. I will go check some bands out anyway since that was mentioned.
Far as the thrash goes as I said I am on a Testament craze lately same with Kreator and Overkill. All 3 have put out killer albums this year.

Nice...My three favorite thrash metal bands, or 3 of my top 5 in the very least.

Got so much more thrash to discover thanks to this thread. Dark Angel I was glad to discover lately too.

Darkness Descends is the album I got of Dark Angel. Another awesome 1986 album. Great year for metal that one.

I'm gonna revive this thread now, as I'd like some recommendations of good thrash bands from the classic period ('80s and early '90s) that weren't mentioned in this thread so far.

Fave 80's/early 90's thrash/power-thrash albums...

....they're not nessesarily the most popular/well-regarded ones by these bands, but they're the ones I like best..

Coroner - Mental Vortex
Annihilator- Alice In Hell
Testament - The Legacy
Manilla Road - Out Of The Abyss
Megadeth - Rust In Peace
Kreator - Coma OF Souls
Sepultura - Arise
Overkill - The years Of Decay
Metal Church - The Dark
Slayer - South Of Heaven
Artillery - By Inheritence
Voivod - Nothingface
Realm - Endless War
Sodom - Better Off Dead
Torturer - Oppressed By The Force
Dark Angel - Time Does Not Heal
Forbidden - Twisted Into Form
Atrophy - Violent By Nature
Anthrax - Persistence Of Time
Metallica - ...And Justice For All
