The DVD entitled A Skin Too Few - The Days of Nick Drake was made by BBC and sees Drake's sister speaking about Nick's life and art. There are other interviews (if I remember well, the great producer Joe Boyd) and some of his fine and deep songs. The documentary is also available on Youtube : :)

Welcome to that 'special' place Prime.... he suffered from chronic shyness... and never received much in the way of success or large record sales at the time 'the black dog' constantly plagued him.
I remember seeing the obituary in 1974...massive loss then & now.
This piece still brings me near to tears.

Clothes Of Sand.

It's the same with Elliott Smith in the way that they were taken way way way too soon. At least we have the music to remember them by but I would just love the opportunity to tell both Nick Drake and Elliott Smith just how good of musicians they really were. Not only were they good, they were raw. No jokes, no hoops. Just plain singer songwriter, and damn good at it too.

That would be great Prime... just a whisper to say "you are a good person, your art matters"
Vashti Bunyon suffered the same... apparently she and another guy, rescued her tape spools from destruction in a damp barn.... and breathed new life into her work. Thankfully she survived and herself and her work are much loved worldwide.

Vashti Bunyon - Diamond Day.
