GEOFF TATE QUEENSRYCHE'S NOT SO SUBTLE ALBUM TITLE:
Press Release / The year is 2013 and revolution is calling once again for Queensryche front man Geoff Tate, who is leading the charge with the band's forthcoming studio effort titled, Frequency Unknown, due out April 23 on Deadline Music/Cleopatra Records.
Although "F.U." might be perceived as a fitting tribute and salutation, it is, without question, a no-holds barred album of new music featuring original Queensryche vocalist Geoff Tate along with an entirely new line-up consisting of bassist Rudy Sarzo (Quiet Riot/Ozzy Osbourne/Whitesnake/Dio/Blue Oyster Cult), guitarist Robert Sarzo (Hurricane), drummer Simon Wright (AC/DC/Dio), guitarist Kelly Gray (Queensryche 1998 - 2001) and keyboardist Randy Gane (Myth).
For Frequency Unknown, Tate and company invited a few of their friends to come join in on the recording "fun" for what will mark Queensryche's thirteenth studio album.

The result? An album containing ten new hard-hitting, distinctively Queensryche songs, four newly-recorded Queensryche classics and an array of well-known guests including guitarists Chris Poland (Megadeth), Dave Meniketti (Y&T), Brad Gillis (Night Ranger), Ty Tabor (King's X), K.K. Downing (Judas Priest), Craig Locicero (Forbidden) and Chris Cannella along with drummers Paul Bostaph (Slayer/Testament) and Evan Bautista.
Also appearing on the album will be bassist Jason Slater, who has worked on several previous Queensryche projects with Tate including Operation: Mindcrime II and American Soldier. Slater co-wrote some of the songs on Frequency Unknown with Geoff Tate and is also the album's Producer.
"I think that the idea of having guest appearances evolved from the time constraints we had imposed on the project," states Tate. "And I must say that I was humbled by the enthusiasm and excitement of all the players that contributed."

Frequency Unknown Track Listing: Cold, Dare, Give it to You, Slave, In the Hands of God, Running Backwards, Life Without You, Everything, Fallen, The Weight of the World. Bonus Tracks: (newly-recorded Queensryche classics) I Don't Believe in Love, Empire, Jet City Woman, Silent Lucidity.

Although times have changed for Geoff Tate, his hard rock wavelength, as represented on Frequency Unknown, remains the same. With Geoff at the helm, Queensryche has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide, toured in approximately 50 countries and received four Grammy nominations.
Frequency Unknown. Coincidental abbreviation? Unlikely. Fun for all metal heads to sink their teeth into? Definitely. Feel free to feast.

Please note: Beginning on April 6th at the Peppermill Casino in West Wenover, Nevada, the band will be hitting the road to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of its epic 1988 release, Operation: Mindcrime. The performance will include all fifteen songs from the album (including "Revolution Calling," "Operation: Mindcrime," I Don't Believe in Love" and "Eyes of a Stranger") along with other well-known hits and rarities from the catalog they've compiled over the past 30 years (see current tour itinerary below).
Operation: Mindcrime was recently named one of the Top 10 Concept Albums of All Time by Guitar World magazine.

Okay now who is the real Queensryche??? :bonk:

I'm gonna have to go with the band with the most members at this point. This here would be more fun if it was called "Geoff Tate"...probably sell better in the end too.

Very curious for sure. No dis respect either, but THIS version of Queensryche or whatever just looks/comes off as REAL clumsy ... the other does as well...but this one so much worse.

Queensryche Announce New Album

The members of Queensryche that split with vocalist Geoff Tate last summer have signed a new record deal with Century Media Records, and announced their first album with vocalist Todd La Torreis on the way. Century Media is a company whose A&R representative officially supported Tate’s injunction to prevent anyone from using the name Queensryche until legal issues were settled. That injunction was denied last July.

The new album will be released on June 11, according to Billboard. The album’s name was not revealed, but it’s now clear there will essentially be two Queensyches for fans to choose from in 2013. Furthermore, Tate is signed as a solo artist to InsideOut records, a label associated with Century Media.

Drummer Scott Rockenfield is excited about the upcoming album with La Torre. “After 35 years I guess I’m gracious and honored that we have people that are that enthusiastic about the band, so we’re really happy about moving forward with them,” he told Billboard referring to Century Media.

The group’s battle with Tate and his wife (ex-band manager Susan Tate) is ongoing. Paul Gargano was the one who voiced support for the injunction. He is the label manager at InsideOut Music but Billboard reports that he will not oversee Queensryche. Rockenfield and his new label showed no concern for a potential conflict of interest.

Tate revealed his Queensryche lineup late last year and after some personnel shuffling they are reportedly going to release their own Queensryche album later this year. Both outfits plan to tour, with Tate and company planning a ‘Operation” Mindcrime’ anniversary tour, and Rockenfield, La Torre and company beginning the Return to History Tour on March 5.

A trial date to beginning settling the legal issues between both parties is set for Nov. 18. Tate was fired in June 2012 after an altercation between band members. The details of the altercation are contested by both parties.

Geoff is Queensryche.... Ive known and met him and this band sinc 1983.. the other guys that are left are zeros and leaches.. Scott can drum but the others are mediocre and should be so thankful Geoff gave the career after Chris left.. rthe new guy Todd is a disaster, his voice is shrill and horrible..

Geoff was kind to stay on after Chis left..he shold have ditched the others as they cant write a song to save their lives

Thye new Queensryche without Tate is like the Beatles with Paul and John.. they are nothing..

You mean the one with Wilton and all that??

Witon is really not that good.. sad to say... he should be sending Geoff a thank you every day for not ditching him after Chris left.. Geoff could have gone the Ozzy route and become huge without the what was left of Ryche

When Queensryche(the new version) and Geoff both release new material the people will decide who's better. Something must have happened after the last studio album that pissed off the band, considering Tate is the main songwriter and how disappointing the last album was it really isn't a surprise things turned out this way.

There is another court date later this year to decide who gets to use the name.
