I gather he never had much of a family atmosphere growing up so he just loves watching his in-laws interact when they get together.

You'd be right about that. After Meat's mother died when he was a teenager his father tried to stab him to death on one of his drinking binges. He moved out after that, got a role as a part of the cast of Hair, met Jim and the rest is history.

Maybe Meat's getting back to the music roots when bands like The Beatles and Zeppelin could put out at least half a dozen albums in 4 or 5 years.
