My 100 favorite albums

I originally made this as wallpaper on my desktop....without it dawning on me that it was far too large. Resizing was easy though so it didn't matter.


Fun little facts and whatnot

*Queen appears on here the most of any other band/artist followed by Alice Cooper.

*The decade that the fewest albums are from (while being present at all) is, much to my surprise, the 60's with only one album, Led Zeppelin's self titled debut, which is also their only entry.

*They decade that most albums are from is the 70's.

*The Shortest album to appear is "Art Of Life" by X Japan at 29 minutes flat, which is very short by most album standard, BUT is very long in the sense that the entire album is comprised of the 29 minute title track.

*The longest album also happens to go to X Japan which is "The Last Live" at over 3 hours.

*There are three greatest hits albums, one for each Aerosmith, ELO, and Eminem.

*Only one EP appears on here which is Dream Theater's "A Change Of Seasons", though it's only really an EP in name because it is just shy of an hour long.

*There are seven live albums, one each for Cheap Trick, KISS, X Japan, Nirvana, Queen, Deep Purple, and Rory Gallagher.

*The oldest album is Led Zeppelin's debut released on January 12th, 1969.

*The most recent album is "Goodbye To The Machine" by HURT followed by Hot Leg's "Red Light Fever".

I highlighted the specific albums I own from your list. My top 100 wouldn't have any Beatles either but then again my top 100 is mostly '90s and up. Great list!

You highlighted some really good ones. The second most albums (behind the 70's) is actually the 90's for me oddly enough. A lot of the albums weren't really "90's music" for the most part but are alot of albums by artists who just continued their careers into the 90's.

I used paint. I just gathered up the album covers and started to paste them together (it was originally only going to be 25 by 25 but then I had far too hard of time choosing between albums). I made sure they all have dimensions of 200 by 200 so they fit together perfectly.

Well you don't need Photoshop actually. You can just use the paint program that is a default on your computer since it's all just copying and pasting.

Well I've actually listened to most of those (not all that huge on The Animals) and I really do like the 60's (which is why it was a shock that only one album from them made my list and even then it was at the ass end of the decade....though now that I'm thinking about it I'm not sure how I don't have any Simon & Garfunkel on there....They're the best group of the 60's to me), but it just seems that I like a lot of things more.

Also a side note: I really have tried to like The Doors....but I just can't. I really want to like them more than I do, but I just don't.....*shrugs* =/

Thanks. That's the most consistent list really. Occasionally something will fall off for a new album but 9 times out of 10 that album would end up just getting it's spot back anyway.
