So far it's only 10 to 9 in favor of the Crüe, so I'm glad it's not terribly one-sided!
Anyway, I voted for W.A.S.P. because Blackie Lawless is a better songwriter, the songs are heavier, and the overall vibe is more menacing, sinister and volatile. Look at it this way: There aren't many '80s metal bands from L.A. (besides Slayer, obviously) that have had an influence on Scandinavian black metal musicians!
Granted, Mötley Crüe are more of an overall band, while W.A.S.P. pretty much is Blackie Lawless. (And he's a bit of an egomaniac!) But when it comes to delivering the goods in terms of consistency in songwriting, and in terms of sheer aggression and intensity, W.A.S.P. definitely has it over Nikki Sixx's merry band. And yeah, sure, I like the Crüe a lot, but...
