Martin Sharp, an artist and lyricist best known for collaborating with Cream, has died at the age of 71. Early on in his career, Sharp created the signature cover for the albums Disraeli Gears and Wheels of Fire, but suffered with emphysema during the last years of his life.

I like the cover art better than what's inside the sleeves.

I can't put my finger on it, but Cream was never big with me. There are a couple songs I really like but I rarely listen to them and I have all their original releases.:hm:

R.I.P Mr. Sharp

If one of Cream's songs comes on the radio I'll give it a listen unless there is something else I like on,honestly I am not really a fan but I appreciate the band's work :). B-E-A-U-Tiful album covers, I really dig the Wheels Of Fire one.

i met him 20 years ago. went and visited him at his mansion in bellevue hill in sydney. very interesting guy

Did you get to see some of his art work? I did some reading about him, and he never had a formal art education.

Some of his drawings that are online put me in mind of the sketches we use to create on our notebooks in high school. He was definitely talented.

Rest In Peace Mr. Sharp.

"Disraeli Gears" is one of my favorites; admittedly, it was an acquired taste.
