After reading a couple members who said that Use Your Illusion 1 & 2 by Guns & Roses had alot of filler material...I thought it would be fun to break it down and give YOUR track list of what you think could have been a solid single UYI CD.

Go for it.....I like something about every song, but if I had to make it one single disc mine would be.....

Garden Of Eden
The Garden
November Rain
Yesterdays
Civil War
Breakdown
You Could Be Mine
Don't Cry
Estranged
Coma

That's a pretty good list Metal Priest. I'd add:

Dust 'N Bones
Pretty Tied Up
Live and Let Die
Knockin' on Heaven's Door (C'mon bro what's up?)
14 Years
Locomotive
So Fine

Coma seems like filler to me.

I think bands need to get congressional approval before they release a double album. Bands get so full of themselves because they're surrounded by Yes-Men, adoring women, and obsessed fanboys. And hell, Axle didn't even need encouragement, what with his raging ego.

I DO think Illusion had enough good songs for a double album...but then they threw filler on top of THAT...which was just unnecessary, and detracted from what history would have looked at as a truly great album.

Two things that make Illusion annoying during two albums of songs. Axl is distinctive, but there's only so much you can take of a bad-great voice. Plus he falls into these embarrassing pro-wrestler digressions. The guy was always half cool / half dork.

And Slash's single dedication to the Les Paul sound gets old. The GnR guitar attack needed more variety. Slash was rockin and ballsy, but lets face it, he's not the most creative guitarist in the world.

pro-wrestler digressions :heheh:

That's pretty funny. Yeah a few cringe moments for sure...but cool to see your set list as well. I wasn't as gung ho on the covers as others were...which is why no Knockin' on my list. Though I don't hate it or anything. It's cool.

I don't know that I would put together only one disc. Sure, there are a couple songs that I could do without like the alternative version of "Don't Cry", "My World", and "So Fine", but I would want to add all of the long songs like "Coma", "November Rain", Breakdown", and "Estranged" and those along would eat up half the album. :heheh:

Some songs were filler in fact should never have even made it to albums let alone a double.
I would go with
1. November Rain
2. Garden of Eden
3. Don't Cry
4. Knockin on Heavens Door
5. Perfect Crime
6. Shotgun Blues
7. Bad Apples
8. Coma
9. The Garden
10. You Ain't The First.

The rest are mostly filler, My World is one that should be just burnt and never see the light of day again.

I love a lot of both discs, however I have to be honest, I don't think I've listened to either one for quite a few years. Typically if I play anything by GnR in the past few years, it's either Appetite or Lies(x3). I'd have to give them both a listen before I could give a list that would narrow down 2 good CDs down into just 1
