I just got the Kisstory book, and Paul said it was Bill A. who wanted him to do the bandit. He already had the star.

He (Paul) said he wore for one photo shoot and two shows, told Bill it wasn't working for his personally, and went back to the star.

Ahh cool, always wondered about that. It was a goofy makeup job but there are some very cool 'ancient' video clips with him in that get up.
