Cool, probably my least favorite Kiss leads from their golden era confirmed as not even recorded by Ace. The stars are aligned once again.

I'm sure it has, but considering I stopped following Kiss shortly after Dynasty was released I guess it shouldn't surprise you this is (good) news to me.

Ahh, gotcha.

Yeah, at some point in the 80's (I think), after Ace was out of the band, this sort of info trickled in. The same sort of thing with Peter who didn't play hardly a note on Dynasty and didn't play anything on Unmasked (most of the drumming on those two albums was done by Anton Fig).

As much as some people love to rip Gene and/or Paul, both of those guys bent over backwards to keep Peter and Ace in the band, even when neither one was showing up for work.

I know. Gene and Paul were truly more professional than Ace or Peter. The music is the only thing I really care about and their decision to completely sell out to the least common denominator was pretty obvious even on Love Gun but blatantly sad from Dynasty on.

That said, the albums that came before Dynasty (even Love Gun to some degree) were good enough to gain them special status among any hard rock act I can think of. Though simple, their early stuff was gritty and brilliant at the same time.

Anyone still have a copy? I know I have mine somewhere, unfortunately, it's pretty beat up because I read it so many times. A mint condition one is worth somewhere between $150-200 (I think).
