^ I can say with 100% certainty that is NOT the case with me. I've listened to Kate. She does absolutely nothing for me and never has. I had friends that listened to her in college, back when she was hitting her peak of popularity, never cared for any of it. Her brand of goofy pop music grates at me. Between the songs (that are boring to me) and her voice (that I find annoying) and the delivery of that voice... I can't get through a full song without skipping. I've tried, I really have. Can't do it.

On the other hand, Pat has appealed to me since I first heard Heartbreaker. I've seen her in concert a few times and she never fails to deliver. I love the rock that she does and even the pop stuff that she does. I'd take the worst of Pat's pop over the best of Kate's pop (whatever that may be).

In the Heat of the Night
Crimes of Passion
Get Nervous
Precious Time

I'd take of those three played at the wrong speed with a bad needle on warped, scratched vinyl over the best that Kate has to offer, any day, every day.

Just my 2 cents worth on the topic. That's not to say that I'm write and anyone who doesn't agree is wrong, just painting my opinion with a colorful brush. ;)
That’s all fine and you obviously have a right to your opinion, but there’s a lot more to Bush’s music than what you’re claiming there is. I see a few fallacies surrounding the type of music you think she makes, but that’s understandable considering you don’t like her stuff. I believe she’s far better at building a lyrical narrative in her songs compared to Benatar, and just a far more ambitious and experimental artist. Benatar also falls victim to a lot of generics in popular music.

Nevertheless, I don’t think this is going to be a very constructive discussion considering you simply don’t like the cosmetics of Bush’s music (her voice; find her boring) and like I said, that’s okay. We’ve just hit that wall where tastes come into play (I’m guilty of the same thing at times), so no matter what I say, I won’t be able to change your mind. We can just agree to disagree.
