Re: Judas Priest

I last saw Judas Priest in Aug of 2008 at one of the bigger rock clubs in Mpls. They put on a hell of a show. I will say though, Rob has lost some off of his voice, but he can definitely still belt it out.

I was going to take my son to the show in July of 2009 (they had an outdoor concert with Whitesnake) but I was just sick as a dog. I really felt bad because he really want to go (of course, as I did as well).

I was going to see them for that august 08 tour, but I played my own gig:heheh:
it was my first show, and I'm proud to say it was at the wildest bar in the area:grinthumb
We covered Livin' After Midnight, so I think it was an even trade, but I still would love to see priest live, I bet Whitesnake can still put on a good show too...I usually am not into hair metal at all, but Whitesnake is more like heavy glam rock to me or something along those lines, they sound more like zep than poison, so I guess they are one of those bands that are a bridge of one of those genre gaps for me

Re: Judas Priest

I think that Hard n Heavy has like a 10 disc DVD set, don't they?

That would be cool to own

On VHS I believe they made it up to 14 volumes....I had them...on DVD they are compiled and condessed and called "Rockthology Presents Hard 'N Heavy"

Ahh, found this nugget. Judas Priest from 1978 doing Beyond the Realms of Death, live in concert. You can see what they looked like prior to the full biker/leather outfits. Pretty low quality video but the audio is pretty decent.

Enjoy!

Re: Judas Priest

You are right Lynch, the video is faded, but man does Rob look young or what...:heheh:

And the Quintessential Priest sound of course.

Re: Judas Priest

Lynch has inspired me to pick up where I left off, the next album and it was a Monster. After the reaction to Point of Entry, Priest returned with a masterpiece, one of their best albums period. Recorded in 1982 and finding that perfect balance between their metal roots and yet accessible without sacrificing anything "Screaming For Vengeance" is considered one of the best metal albums of the 80's. All but two songs off this record are on compilations that came out years later, a testimony to the strength and quality of Priest in their prime. This album cemented beyond doubt their name along side other metal icons like Black Sabbath and ensured their place as the most important band from the NWOBHM movement.

One of my favorite songs.
