This is truly a rebirth I think... and personally I couldn't be happier for the band and the fans. The haters are still gonna hate and the Perry mourners are gonna miss the boat... unless they actually listen to this. OK... off my soap box. :D

That's the problem! People shouldn't hate on anything prelistening and shouldn't have stupid non-musical reason to love or hate anything. I never write ANY band off! :grinthumb

There's too much talent in this band for them not to succeed. I get pissed off when I read that people call Arnel a karioke singer. The guy can flat out sing and has great range. He also seems to be very humble and appreciative of his good fortune. Enough already.......off to Walmart.

I bought it, I listened to it with real good headphones on and I don't need to listen to it again to know I love it! It's a guitar driven record as expected. Arnel is spot on and I like the fact that his vocals are up front without much else, reverb etc. The guy can bring it. I didn't hear any songs which I would classify as filler. Fans of ballads will be disappointed. These tunes will rock in the live setting with Cain on guitar rather than keys. It's obvious Neal was determined to rock and he got his wishes. I will see them in Tampa for sure. I know this record will grow on me. If you are a fan of melodic hard rock you can't lose.

I'll be giving this album a spin in the morning. Just got my copy today. I've heard good things, so i'm sure i'll enjoy it, and i'll also be sure to give my first thoughts on it.

I have gotten about half way through the album so far, and I have the other half to get through now. Pretty excited to hear the rest. So far, I am incredibly impressed with this album. The vocals are great, the guitar is fantastic, and I agree with what other people said, it is very guitar based. But that's not a bad thing, it adds an extra "zing" to the album. I wasn't really expecting it to be a bad album anyway, considering all the good feedback it has been getting, so i'm not too surprised that I am enjoying it, but I am happy that I am enjoying it. Adds another album to the list of albums that I will listen to regularly. And considering it's hit a good spot on first listen, I may listen to it again later today once I listen to it once.

The one thing I really enjoy about it, is that it gets right into it from the start with City of Hope. I don't mind when an album has like...a slow opener to the album, but I like it even more when the first track is an actual song, and is a good one, which this album has. :grinthumb

I love the guitar riff on the song Chain Of Love. Resonate also has a good hook. There is plenty of whining on Facebook but it's the standard "no Steve Perry no Journey horse that's been beaten to death for 15 years. There's some idiots ripping the album and have not even heard it. Fans of the softer stuff won't like this record. I never liked Journey for the ballads so this suits me just fine. I like Steve Perry but I got into Journey because of Neal Schon. I think he's the most underrated guitarist in rock today.
