Re: Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock

i loved it. however my dad got to see this performance live and he thought he absolutely butchered the national anthem. in fact, he didn't care for the whole concert, i think he was more worried about surviving than anything else.

Jimi served in the military. I really liked his Woodstock version. His portrayal of battle reminds me of this Picasso painting.

hendrix had a absolutly astounding performance at woodstock. although by the time he played, only a small percentage were left. People were crying in the croud after his star spangled banner. if you hear the recording i like to believe it doesnt sound half as good as it did live. I have to agree though that he had better live performances.

Agreed with Monterey as his best performance. He killed so much on that one (although he killed on all live performances) :D

Isle of Wight was great... Royal Albert Hall was magical.
