For the fans that do like Idol, maybe Tyler will have a good impact, but someone is going to have to fill the curmudgeon's shoes(Simon), not everyone can be Paula bouncing up and down being nice to everyone that is not what made the show popular for the people that do watch it.

Well he used to host America's Got Talent which is why he could totally hop on the Idol ship, sinking or not. And I'm not so much a fan of Malibu Dave he's very unintentionally funny in a train wreck sort of way.
