I would consider that Classic, maybe cause I have heard anything form the band for a long time now. Last song I remember was the famous Sweet Home Alabama

Well they did get the lead singers brother to play for them after the lead singer died in that plane crash years ago. I still think they play some venues from time to time.

cause they have unerring good taste or cause they like to get stoned.
I haven't decided.

Yeah, I think Skynrd is considered 'Classic Rock' but then so is Pat Benatar and Styx and Tommy Tutone.

who's Tommy Tutone?
o.k. maybe I got a little carried away.
Anything before 2003 seems to qualify.

Probably because they are starting to realize it is good music and alot of the music out today is crap. ;)

Teenagers, such as myself, listen to classic rock because most of the stuff on the radio is crap. For every Mars Volta, there's 100 bands like Nickleback and Creed, reproducing unoriginal material. Sometimes you have to look backwards to find the best material.

As for Lynyrd Skynyrd, their music is classic and they do rock, so yeah they're classic rock. They've got memoriable songs and they can still fill concerts to this day (even without the original Van Zant), and they just plain kick ass.

Here in L.A., one of the stations just went to this "Jack-FM" format.
Have you heard of this?
"It's like having your i-pod on shuffle" is their motto and they have no deejays.

I listened for about 20 min. they seem to skew 'classic rock' with a little synth-pop thrown in. somebody's clip boards must show that people like the stuff.
It's nice to have a 'classic rock' station that doesn't rotate the bejeesus out of everything.
well, not yet anyway.
I'm not sure how I feel about no deejays.
maybe if I could think of a deejay who doesn't annoy me...

Do they have commercials?

I am a XM Radio listener. IF you don't have one, get one. They have great classic rock songs on there with no commercials and bad ass deejays!!
