Is Your Partner Into Rock?

We are both older (early 70s!) and both like the music we grew up with. Beatles, Hollies, Kinks, Byrds, Beach Boys, and 60s folk music and we like old country. I'm into blues and classic rock and she doesn't really care for it. But we have a lot of common ground. No fights.

@Delilah I too love Dolly Parton and honestly, I do like the rendition of "Jolene" in the Backyard Sessions that Miley Cyrus does.

Well, I'm single so at the moment, the answer would be no.
But when I was dumb enough to try being in a relationship, it was up and down.
The one that is referred to now as The Disaster couldn't grasp the concept that I would never ask her to go to a heavy metal concert with me because I knew she didn't like the music. She liked what I would call adult contemporary type stuff.
"I'd go with you if you wanted."
"You'd be miserable and want to leave, which would make me miserable"
"But I'd still go"
I finally had to tell her that I'd never want her to go to music that she doesn't like because I want to enjoy myself. And yet, still she was oblivious.
The one is known as The Aftershock did like some rock and metal. She LOVED the Bat Out of Hell album, but I never got to explore just how much she loved rock and metal...thank goodness.
The one that is known as The Regret actually does like rock and metal. Not to the point I do but she goes to some shows here and there. But again, short-lived time together.

I'm a bit older than my wife, and she likes the '80s and '90s songs she knew growing up, but our musical tastes are quite similar. She loves that I know tons of old songs that are just fantastic, and says I haven't played her anything she doesn't like yet. We got together over our love of The Beatles.
She has a degree in piano, I have a degree from the school of playing music from memory for money for years.
