An unnamed woman, 71, and her husband, 81, started bombarding the house next door with repeated plays of the band’s track Afraid To Shoot Strangers, sometimes keeping it going until 4am.
The woman said they felt forced to act after a “whistling noise” kept them awake, and she’d had to take sleeping pills to help ignore it. “We wanted to give them a taste of their own medicine,” she told Swedish police.
The neighbour, who endured the audio assault throughout most of last winter, said: “The harassment has just carried on. I am completely broken down.”
Police found the elderly couple had placed a music system on their balcony with speakers directed to the next terraced house. They found a second system in the basement, also pointed next door.
They face charges of harassment, according to The Local.
