Imagine by John Lennon is one of my absolute favorite songs, and I've never heard a cover of this song that I liked, until this one. I think John Lennon would be proud to see his masterpiece so beautifully interpreted. Sometimes it's nice to have another interpretation of a classic. This is one of them.
Have a listen and let me know what you think.

I remember when John Lennon died and they did a tribute to John by candle light with Imagine as the theme song. I thought that was the most beautiful song I ever heard, and the way John sang it was perfect. I’ve heard that song done by so many over the years, but none could touch and move the way John sang it. When I heard Mona and Lisa Wagner (MonaLisa Twins) cover of Imagine here, I was truly impressed by Lisa’s heart felt singing and vocal dynamics that hit every note of that beautiful ballad with wonderful emotion like John did it. Doing the slower beautiful ballads with proper justice to the essence of the original is the hardest to do, and I have never heard this song done right like Lisa did it, with Mona's incredible backing harmony voice. John Lennon would have approved!

As music videos go, I think John Lennon’s Imagine is one of the greatest of all time in line with the stature of the song itself.

While it is a relatively simple video that starts with John and Yoko walking along a dark and foggy pathway into a house, and then he sits at the piano and starts singing. It’s symbolism is brilliant. John is playing in a room with so many windows all around, but it is dark.
The lyrics of the song in contrast are incredibly enlightening

    Imagine there’s no countries
    It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
    And no religion too
Imagine all the people living life in peace,

    Imagine no possessions
    I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
    A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people sharing all the world,….

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope some day you’ll join us
And the world will live as one

These concepts may be hard to comprehend nor accept today by many, but John’s vision in this song was ahead of it’s time.

Yoko Ono opens the blinds on each window one at a time, letting in more light, until it is completely light and everything comes into clarity.

The light to me symbolizes the enlightened meaning of the song that could bring the world out of darkness.

I believe some religious people have subsequently criticized the line in the song "And no religion too" not that it bothers me personally.

Yeah I remember the day John was killed myself back in 1980. Recently in 2019 I heard that Mark Chapman is now 'sorry that he killed John' which is no doubt 'cold comfort' to Yoko hearing that?.

I can only say that Imagine is my absolute favorite by John Lennon! I must admit that I got goosebumps first time. It touched me alot and still do. It is a big shame that John Lennnon was killed and I still don't understand wut was going on in Mark Chapman's brain that day!

I believe I heard at the time when Mark Chapman killed/murdered John that he said "I want to be famous as the person who killed John Lennon" idiot.

I like the song Rock & Roll People that John wrote and gave to Johnny Winter who recorded a great live version of the song on the Johnny Winter Captured Live album from 1975.

Yeah, I have heard that one before. I just remember how angry John's fans were here. John Lennon and his band was very popular here at that time, also because they for a period had a band camp here in Denmark up north of me.

I did it said about 20-25 years ago that the killing of John Lennon was the biggest loss in rock music!. No doubt many would agree with that statement along with all Beatles fans although personally speaking I would say the biggest loss to rock music in the last 50 years was Jimi Hendrix.

This is a part of an rare interview recorded in Thy - Denmark on January 6th 1970 - John Lennon talks about Peace and commercial messaging. John Lennon and Yoko Ono staid in Thy for about a month in a remote farm during Christmas 1969 til around 20 of January 1970 - it was as well her John Lennon got his first "short-hari" cut as peace-love-movment-celebrity.:
