Below is Iggy Pop's John Peel Lecture with the BBC. I highly recommend giving it a listen if you can put in the time. Before seeing this this I actually read the entire transcript of the lecture and it caught my interest.

This is really great! I got over half through it and will catch the rest Monday. Very interesting hearing his views on record labels. He definitely is very intelligent but we kind of knew that.

Iggy in my opinion doesn't get half the credit he deserves, his intelligence comes from being wise and learning from life.

way way back (late 80'sish) came across an old rerun of the Tom Snyder show. I didn't really even know of him but I was amazed by Iggy's complete honesty and genuine words talking about singing and just having fun and that was what is was all about.

amazed by him back in 89-90's and still today. Today he is still so just plain honest and has learned from paying his dues and learned about life and how to get what you want and need from it.

I think he is amazing and a simple honest man and I always have. especially after the show in Buffalo in the early 90's. he came out on stage in that red white blue leather jacket all I could think was that he was a god or something. And he does things his was and doesn't have one worry about what someone think about how it does things, how he looks or who he knows or talks to. and all the while he simply just not a bad guy at all

Man Mr. Jim, I went back and read this thread and can't believe I never realized it was you writing here! What a great show that was and that's just how I always describe that show that it was like seeing a god or something. Sure Iggy's one of my all-time favorites but I was upfront for Johnny Thunders, the NY Dolls, Ramones, even Kiss and seeing iggy upfront was something else. Alice Cooper has that kind of presence up front as well. I would love to see Iggy in concert again. I really enjoyed that BBC special

There is no show that I have ever been too where I felt like I did when Iggy came out. it was something special, and your right it was his presence. The only way I describe it is seeing a "God". I can remember things vividly from that night but I can't recall anything on stage other than Iggy. I even remember that crazy opening band

Even the Ramones; that was special. With them it felt like we were seeing the best of the best, upper statesmen. it was great and everything.

But not "God like" with Iggy. I think I was even more excited prior to show for the Ramones, remember how much I kept after the guy that got us those tickets. The man came through he was awesome... good peeps. we didn't know it at the time though
