One of the Best of the 1980's. Their 1990's music was great as well. They were the best until Michal cut off his hair. JMO.

REM indeed had some cool songs...I always wondered why Michael cut off his hair, he did seem cooler with his long hair..Just an observation...My favorite song of theirs is "Stand" and their song "Everybody Hurts" was so depressing..

After their album Monster, I did not like much of what they put out for some reason. This is about the time Michael started shaving his head.
There are some really great live versions of “Lotus” but the studio version and other songs from 1998’s Up album are just lifeless.
They were a good band with a few great albums.
