U2 - New Years Day. I haven't heard anything else I like by them, but New Year's Day is a great track. It even tops Golden Earring and that is saying something. I remember seeing U2 play it live on Channel 4's The Tube and Edge switched between playing guitar and piano.

I went with this song, too. A great cut.

I also like Where The Streets Have No Name, but that's about it for me. No so much the music, but Bono's Messiah complex that turns me off.

I know what you mean, but I would rather have Bono with his messiah complex, speaking out against injustices, than no-one at all. But apart from New Year's Day, I cannot get into U2 . . . or REM, who seem similar to me.
