Lol, Flower and Astrid, I'll tell him, it'll make his day :) He's the coolest dad, even now at 61, he's still into his music big style. He travels a lot and wherever he goes he seeks out music and live bands, and when he's at home he and his mates are off out every week watching local rock bands. He'll ring me up and say, are you and Paul [Sox] coming out there's a fantastic band on. I've seen so many great bands thanks to him. :)

A few things that got me into rock and roll music:

~~~My mother brought home a copy of the Dave Clark Five's "Try Too Hard" album and gave it to me. Loved that album.
~~~My brother and I used to love to watch the Monkees television show. Mainly because we thought it was hilarious, but we liked the music a lot, too. I still enjoy some of their songs.

~~~Somewhere around that time period, I have no idea what the circumstances were, but I heard "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" by the Stones and that pretty much sealed the deal. That was the first "real" rock and roll I'd ever heard, and the Stones became my favorite band for a long time afterward.
~~~My next door neighbor was a huge Beatles fan...this was in 1970 right around the time they broke up. He had all of their records and used to let me borrow a couple at a time. That was a HUGE milestone for me.

~~~I heard the song "D.O.A." by Bloodrock on the radio at right around the same time, but I suppose that by then I was already deep into the genre.
