I'm curious about the history of the site myself, would someone care to enlighten me? 
How did you find CRF?

I will post the condensed version Shaggy told us about the history of this place.
"Well I had no idea that there was another classic rock forum when I got this started. I picked this domain up when it dropped/expired. I setup a fresh forum on it with 0 posts and 0 users. I come to find out a few weeks later that a replacement forum (months before I picked up the domain name) was created because the original owner of this domain let everything go as he said he couldn't afford paying for the hosting for it. He was tired of all the BS from the users and let the domain expire. I used the same setup of how it looked before it was expired (there is a site you can go to that shows how sites looked as far back as 1995). Before the original owner of CRF.com let it go, the owners of the replacement site PM'd most members here before it was closed down and most members moved over there from here. That's how it was started. When I started this backup again, many users returned that disliked the other site due to the trolling going on there came back here and it was a small site for a few years."
Magic found this place in March 2009, she joined and told me about it so I signed up as well. Then because we were involved running another site we left when it came back online after server issues. I didn't really visit often seeing I am single minded about something I'm involved with, but Magic still visited here and posted threads and tried to get to know the regular posters. Anyway in mid September last year due to personal differences we both left our old haunts, and after some time to relax decided to see if we could help Shaggy get this place going again.
Flower, Hepcat, Foxhound, EB, Mr. Shadow, CP/M have been stalwarts since we arrived in October, and a lot of credit has to go to them for helping us keep going, their contributions have been essential and very much appreciated by all of us.
That is about as much of the story that I know, Shaggy might have more details he could share, but he is a very busy man.

hmmmm that is quite the tale, im glad this place got revived because i love talking about all things music on here

but why did the site need to get revived last year in the first place? im missing that it seems
There were hardly any members here, the few that returned after Shaggy started up again eventually just stopped posting. I can't speak for the history before April last year, but it was very quiet in here. Flower might have more to say she has been here a lot longer than I have and Knows a lot of the old members that don't visit anymore.

When I first came here it was a complete ghost town. Some very interesting discussions but there would only be a handful a new posts a day (or it seemed that way)...so I just kind of forgot about coming back. I also have this vague memory that someone was hassling people via PM's (but I could be wrong, I am getting old) which immediately turned me off.
But with all that said I am happy I decided to visit again...the site has definitely taken off big time.

I guess you were hear a bit before me, I know we are both 08's
but yeah, I remember checking back about once a week and there would sometimes barely be anything new... and yes, I got some very interesting pm's when I first got here
