If you want to be "flooded" with music, I'm more than happy to mail you some recordings of my old radio shows. I have probably 2-3 dozen extra cd's available. You don't have to pay me for any postage or the cd's. I'll do it on the house.
I did the 70's, 80's and 90's rock thing on the air for a long time. The recordings I have are on cd and generally feature one hour of programming with full songs and full mic segments. I put a lot of time into front selling and back selling music, in addition to giving the listener information about the artist, album and song. My playlist generally included a lot of popular name artists but songs of theirs that usually aren't played on the radio, or a lot of their newer material (which also never got played because most stations stick with the "old stuff").
Only catch is many of the cd's weren't recorded by me, so they are mostly one or two really long tracks (30 minutes-plus) instead of being divided up into a new track for each song. It means either you have to let it run or do the FWD thing
They are just cd'rs of course, so nothing "official" but it would be a good way to sample 8-12 songs per cd and learn a lot about the music I am playing in the process. Word of warning, I am no Casey Kasem or Howard Stern type. I was pretty "dry" on the air, with occasional bursts of witty puns or self-deprecating humor but otherwise a stody, straight man.
It is also a low-budget, el-cheapo station I was working for at the time so don't expect anything sounding "corporate" or "big time." We're talking college radio or internet radio quality here, even though it was a legitimate FM station with 2 frequencies on the dial.
Feel free to PM me a name and mailing address if you want a few cd's.
