Cool handle Sloop, welcome and enjoy.

Thanks :) And thanks for all of the welcome messages. My friends and I were huge Monkees fans as 8 and 9 year olds back in 1966/1967. We were part of the target audience, after all. In fact, here I am circa 1967 proudly holding up my Monkees albums in my front yard:

As an adult I especially like this one...

Thanks again!

Welcome to the group, Sloop.
Great introduction and songs included.
I'm a tad envious of your date of birth as I was a teen in the era of a great music depression in my opinion.
You came about as a little one at the perfect time :D

Again, thanks for all of the welcome messages.

I guess YouTube videos come and go, and it looks like the first Sloop John B video has gone, so here it is again.

Another song I fell in love with as an innocent (?) 8 year old was Return of the Red Baron by The Royal Guardsmen. I remember bringing the 45 in to school for show and tell when I was in third grade...

Just for the record, some of my all-time favorite artists/bands are:

The Doors
John Lennon/Beatles
U2
Emerson, Lake & Palmer
Aerosmith
Janis Joplin
Frank Zappa
The Monkees
Led Zeppelin
The Rolling Stones
Kid Rock

...and all of the other usual suspects like Harry Chapin etc...
