In fact - Hendrix aside - I'm really over all those old bores on the list.
Let's hear it for Alex Lifeson, Trevor Rabin, Neal Schon, Kirk Hammet, the Edge, Ace Frehley...ANYONE but Ron Wood and Eric Clapton....
Actually BG, I was bored with Clapton for a while there....BUT, I recently was watching some Cream Reunion 2005 vid clips on Youtube and I have to say I am once again enthused about Clapton. The New York Shows in Oct were better than the first ones in London (Albert Hall).
The band seemed like they were just testing out the waters, (and confidence) when they first played their reunion shows in London, but their confidence and volume started to go up in New York a few months later.
It's GREAT to see Cream back together and they will be playing some more shows this summer, (according to the band members). The only thing I'd like to see Eric do is try playing a Gibson Firebird, Les Paul or SG again on at least some songs at a Cream show.....then it would sound more like their classic live sound from the 60's.
