I'm actually not much of a guitar fan. I mean, I LOVE guitar, but strictly as one part of the whole song. I don't have any favorite guitar solos and the only song I ever think of as a favorite guitar song would be Cortez The Killer. But I do love guitar and I do have a lot of favorite guitarists.... most of them being - Jimi Hendrix (most amazing stuff), Jimmy Page (most consistently awesome stuff), Alvin Lee (coolest & most enjoyable speed playing), Neil Young (unfathomable acoustic/electric duality and some of the coolest guitar parts ever), Kurt Cobain (best rhythms ever), Stevie Ray Vaughn (most enjoyable to watch except for Hendrix), David Gilmour (some of the most beautiful & atmospheric playing ever), Bob Dylan (awesome folk-blues and folk songs, some of the most impressive things ever), Jerry Cantrell (very admirable duality and awesome work in all categories), Johnny Winter (definetly some of the awesomest & most impressive stuff).

FYI when I say "ever" I just mean out of everything I've ever heard. I haven't heard everything.

The distinctive and crucial sound Cobain made with his guitar will never be truly appreciated IMO.

that's because his voice surpassed it by a very long shot.

hmm.. ok ..

I love all of those guitarists and i could go on for days about talking about stupid details..

Hendrix was the man..

but i personally admire claptons work from 65-69.

You gotta love cream.. especially live stuff..

and blind faith.

Tell me if you think cream is a shitty band. You have the right to say so

Cream is not a shitty band at all, they are great..there is a lot of great onstage chemistry with those guys, even in the present. It's a bit sad that Jack can be frail at times these days, but look at his age and his health, I heard he beat cancer a few years ago.
I'm looking forward to buying their recent live DVD soon; though I'm a bit suprised that Clapton is playing the Cream songs kinda over-clean but it still sounds good.

Your correct about jack being frail. He got extreemly sick in the last few years.. If you look at a picture of him about five years ago, and a picture now, he looks like he lost at least 30 lbs.

I got the Cream Reunion DVD the first day it came out. Its killer. It is indeed a little light and slow sounding, but jesus christ, those dudes are 60 to 65 years old.

I think Ginger played the best out of all of them last year.

Some of My favorite and recommendedcream tracks:

Sittin on top of the world (live)- Goodbye Cream

Im so Glad(live)- Goodbye Cream

Spoonful(live)- Wheels of Fire

Sleepy Time Time(live)- Live Cream

Tales of Brave Ulyses(live) Live Cream VOL 2

Fresh Cream and disraeli gears are killer...

Blind faith also kicks ass.

No Jeff Beck
Would have liked to see Steve Howe and Robert Fripp on the list.

I like, on The Cream DVD, when EC says "when we were in our prime..." and Baker says "We ARE in our prime". He really means it and in a lot of ways he might be right.
