Elton John just a more solid album all around.

I do like the White Album more now than I ever have before, but it can't beat Yellowbrick Road at least not in my book.

Personally, I think "the white album" is about 2 sides too long. Had they made this a single, 2-sided LP (rather than 4), I think it would be worthy of all of the praise it's gotten over the years. Unfortunately (to me), this album is half-great and half-terrible.

now, I have to decide if I want to penalize the Beatles for including the garbage with the gems (because the gems are just that, gems!), and go with one of Elton's best outputs? Hrmm...
