Not best to get into the Madonna vs. KISS discussion at this point because as I pointed out before it's like comparing apples and oranges and they're both equally important acts to different genres. I don't think Gene is a has been but he does try to remain in the public eye with silly antics when all he needs to really do is focus on what his fans loved him for originally. And I'm sorry I love Madonna but to me her last GREAT album was Ray of Light and that was way back when. Since then I've been unimpressed with her work but I'm glad you still enjoy her LD. :)

Male audiences do love Madonna, I have her Stick & Sweet tour DvD and nearly all the people in the front row were Men.

Bon Jovi would be an excellent choice for a half-time show! :grinthumb People can rag on them all they want, but they are another example of a band with staying power since the late 70's early 80's and they have a slew of great songs. I saw them live and they are not boring in the least. And, they ROCK! So, maybe not everyone's cup of tea like U2 isn't, but a great choice in my opinion. :)

^^^ Jersey, I only meant that in the past 5 years there's been four rock acts (Bruce, Tom Petty, Slash, The Who) so another rock act would be a little predictable and they do need to vary it. :grinthumb:cheers2

I see Madonna has a Huge fan in here(LD) Magic would be in here taking her side for sure if she was awake that is.:)

I have no problem with variety, however an uptempo Metal Band would be more to my liking than Madonna...after all it is football. But that will never happen, the NFL is so stodgy it's pathetic.

Bon Jovi...they would be a good fit.

At least it's not Nickelback LG. ;)

And yeah... I was thinking about that. Magic is a Madge fan too. I knew I liked that woman for a reason.

I think she's the same as you, liked her stuff from years ago but not so much now, then again we don't talk about her very much. I don't think I even posted in her thread...

I don't do that as a rule, but in this thread she's fair game.:heheh:

For those fans that do watch the halftime show, I hope she does a good set for them.:grinthumb

I agree with Jersey....musically, Bon Jovi would be a better choice...

for two reasons...

Bon Jovi has class - Madonna doesn't.

Bon Jovi is at least rock music - Madonna isn't.

:cheers2

Honestly, Gene is just jealous that Madge is in the Hall of Fame and Kiss is not, Madge even has more likes on facebook than kiss, more fans than kiss and hasn't soldout like kiss.

I noticed you conveniently left out the word ''rock'' when you mentioned Hall of Fame...

Face it, Kiss belongs in the ROCK N' Roll Hall of fame -- Madonna doesn't.

Argue all you want about that - but in the end, you'll be wrong.:D

Gene made a terrible solo album, a terrible reality series and apparantly leaked a sex tape in order to stay relevant.

Haha....you seem to forget the movie ''Truth or Dare''...or that pornographic ''Sex'' book she put out with full of weirdoism.

LD, I think you don't know your Madonna history.

I despise Madonna and know more about her than you, through her many tasteless acts of controversy -- proving my point, she based her career on controversy. She did everything through controversy to stay relevant, because she couldn't make it based on rehashed 70's mindless disco based music in the 80's.

Fact. :)

Oh and Kiss also sang with Adam Lambert, how much more of a sellout can Kiss become...

And what does that say about Queen? :heheh:

Not too much!...lol

Madge has NEVER EVER had to do anything like this to stay relevent, she is awesome, smart, sexy and the most talented singer/songwriter of the 20th/21st century.

That is why she was chosen for the Superbowl.

:lmao:

Again, you need to brush up on your Madonna history.

Male audiences do love Madonna, I have her Stick & Sweet tour DvD and nearly all the people in the front row were Men.

Was it Adam Lambert and his friends, or fans of her male back up dancers?:heheh:

Again, Madonna fanbase isn't male NFL fan types...

99% of them will being taking a piss, while Madonna performs....trust me. :)

:cheers2

But you know, we're not the only ones that watch the Super Bowl, so there doesn't need to be a rock act every year. :)

Just a reminder to stay civil in here, taking fair shots at Madonna is fine, but getting personal is not.

If I think it's getting out of hand I'll simply close the thread.
