Gary Rossington, one of Lynyrd Skynyrd's founding members who plays lead and rhythm guitar, has been hospitalized in Wyoming with an abdominal infection.

I always thought Gary was a 'real cool looking dude' back in the 1970s and for me the dude i always had my eyes on in LYNYRD SKYNYRD.

I genuinely worry when I see a story like this. He's also the only remaining link with the first/original Lynyrd Skynyrd line-up, so he needs to be wrapped in cotton wool and carefully preserved as a national treasure when you think of all the tragedy and death and bad karma that has haunted that amazing band. It's actually quite un-nerving to read up on all the tragedy they have had, some of it makes you wonder if they are cursed (if you believe in that sort of thing) Only Gary Rossington and drummer Artimus Pyle are still alive from the original band. Allen Collins (Lead Guitar) Leon Wilkson (bass), Ronny Van Zant (singer), Billy Powell (Keyboards), Steve Gains (guitar), Cassie Gains (Backup Vocals) and Ed King are all dead. Even three of the new members who replaced them for the 2001 reunion have died since then. So, get well soon Gary.
